Born in Johannesburg and presently resident in London, Jessica's work so far has been heavily influenced by contemporary South Africa and it's struggle towards a working democracy. Her debut play KLIPPIES, directed by Chelsea Walker, received outstanding reviews in its four week run (May - June 2015) at the Southwark Playhouse. She was on attachment to the National Theatre Studio last year and most recently she was commissioned by the Southwark Playhouse to adapt Eiko Kadoio's KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE for their 2016 Christmas show, which was directed by Kate Hewitt and received a second run in summer 2017. She is currently writing her second play THE KNOCK-KNOCK BEETLE and developing new ideas for theatre, film and television. Jessica was on the Royal Court's Young Writers Programme in 2013 and the Bush Theatre Emerging Writers Group in 2016/2017 has been nominated for an Offie for Most Promising Playwright.
